How does the referral process work?

There are a couple of ways that you can use to access services at Positive Steps Psychology.

     1. Accessing counselling via a Mental Health Plan.

A Mental Health Plan is developed between yourself and your GP. You need to make an appointment with your GP, discuss your issues and then                           request that the GP refer you to Positive Steps Psychology. Once the GP has written the referral you can then call Trisha on 0418 193 029 and
               arrange a convenient appointment time.

The benefit of a Mental Health Plan is that you are then able to claim a Medicare Rebate (for a maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year) which                        means you only have to pay a small gap for your sessions. Medicare Rebates are available immediately via electronic processing.

    2. Accessing services without a Mental Health Plan.

Not everyone wants to access counselling via a Mental Health Plan. If this is the case for yourself then you are most welcome to call Trisha on

0418 193 029 and arrange a convenient appointment time. You then simply pay the full fee for the counselling session and if you have Health                                Insurance you may be able to claim a rebate directly from your insurer.
For an obligation free chat about your needs please call Trisha Baird on 0418 193 029 or send an email to [email protected]
